Favicon Generator

Favicon Generator Overview

A favicon is the small icon shown in browser tabs, bookmarks, and favorites. This tool generates favicons in multiple sizes (e.g. ICO, PNG) from an uploaded image or design, and can output common sizes for use on your site.

Use it to quickly produce a standard favicon set for websites, PWAs, or apps without manual cropping or conversion.

How to Use

Upload or Design Icon

Upload a square image as the source, or use in-tool text/shape options to create an icon. Prefer simple designs that stay recognizable at small sizes.

Choose Sizes and Format

Select output sizes (e.g. 16×16, 32×32, 180×180) and format (ICO, PNG, etc.). Some tools offer a single download with multiple sizes.

Download and Add to Site

Download the generated favicon(s), place them in your project, and add the appropriate link tags or manifest entries so the icon appears in the browser.

FAQ

What source image size is recommended?

A square image of 512×512 or larger is usually enough; the tool will scale to each size. Very small or non-square images may look blurry or distorted at small sizes.

What’s the difference between ICO and PNG?

ICO can bundle multiple sizes in one file and has broad legacy support; PNG is one size per file and common in modern setups. You can provide both if needed.

Is the image uploaded to a server?

Depends on the implementation; if generation runs in the browser (e.g. Canvas), the image is processed locally. See this site’s privacy policy.
