What does the timezone converter do?
This tool converts a local time in one timezone into the matching instant in another timezone, while also showing the UTC representation. The current page supports:
- manual datetime input
- source and target timezone selection
- one-click source/target swap
- quick buttons for common zones
- source time, target time, and UTC ISO output
The implementation is built on browser Intl APIs and IANA timezone identifiers, so names like Asia/Shanghai, Europe/London, and America/New_York are the intended inputs. Short abbreviations such as PST or CST are intentionally outside the input model.
The page can also auto-detect the browser timezone and use it as the default source, which is handy for meeting planning, release timing, and log triage.
Accepted input format
The parser accepts:
YYYY-MM-DD HH:mmYYYY-MM-DD HH:mm:ss
It also accepts T as the separator, for example 2026-03-18T09:00.
